On to the essay simulator
Description
The following page will pick a random TOEFL essay topic and start a 30 minute countdown.
There are 184 possible topics in this list.
They were taken from the official "writing topics" list from the TOEFL bulletin on www.toefl.org.
Additionally I've put the sample essay list from a post on TestMagic into the program (supposedly 5+
essays). I have corrected some grammar and english mistakes in the first few samples.
This will allow you to immediately see a sample essay on the same topic you've practiced.
Not all topics have a sample essay.
I can quite easily change or add different sample essays, so just let me know on the forum.
I've added another functionality, allowing to pick only a certain type of essay. That way you can pick i.e. a random "Compare" essay, or you can set it so only "Point of view" and "Describe" topics will come up (Any combination is possible).
In order for this page to function you will need to turn javascript on. This page has been tested with internet explorer only.
